John is the former Director, Behavioral Health Services for Joslin Diabetes Center and Lecturer in Psychiatry for Harvard Medical School. Since 1982, his clinical work, research and teaching have focused on the behavioral and psychological aspects of chronic illness, specifically diabetes. At the present time, John is interested in developing sustainable, cutting edge models of behavioral health care that can be integrated in a cost effective way with comprehensive diabetes care and extended to primary care practice. His current research interests include developing tools to prevent hypoglycemia and methods to increase adherence with medical recommendations.
