Diabetes is considered a multifactorial disease potentially leading to a variety of complications. This presentation will focus on complication prevention and risk reduction, plus provide insight into managing complications when they do occur.

Teresa Pearson is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with over 30 years experience in clinical diabetes. She is the lead diabetes specialist for St Mary’s Health Services in Minneapolis and consults with care systems regarding clinical quality improvement in diabetes care. She also serves on numerous boards and committees for ADCES, ADA, the Minnesota Department of Health as well as national and international advisory boards for a variety of diabetes related organizations. Teresa is a frequent guest speaker and author. She has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the state of Minnesota and the 2019 Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists.
